This ministry’s focus is to coordinate
program to equip, encourage, and provide opportunities for our
congregation to participate in the church’s vision of reaching the
seeking and growing the convinced. T.E.A.M.'s part in reaching the
seeking is a no brainer, but what may elude you is how this ministry
grows the convinced. Only a God of infinite wisdom as our does would
use sharing our relationship with Jesus to help us grow our faith in
Him.
Here is a summary of the
opportunities coordinated by this ministry directly:
Angel Tree:
We coordinate ministries and
individuals to procure gifts for local children with an incarcerated
parent as well as invite them to a Holiday Dinner to celebrate the
“Reason for the Season”.
Tres Picos:
We have adopted this residential
development by visiting the residents every month with a blessing
packet and information about events happening at the church.
Rescue Mission:
We are facilitating worship services
for this organization once a month. We have also coordinated
“stockings” to be distributed during the Christmas season. They will
consist of heavy men’s socks fill with much needed toiletry items.
During Easter, we distributed “Easter Eggs” that contained a cross
and sweets. We have plans to distribute toiletry items during this
season as well.
FIT:
We have adopted a family that is
transitioning off of many county assistance programs. God has been
so awesome that any needs communicated have been prayed for and
then, has been fulfilled through other channels. We are hoping that
relationships with more families in this program will start.
Make a Difference Day:
We had a booth at the local Make a
Difference Day Festival which promoted our Celebrate Recovery group
as well as our church services. This experience brought to light the
need for a brochure to highlight what needs the community has that
our fulfilled through our ministries.
Ministry Trips:
With the need being so great after
the Hurricane Katrina and Rita in the Gulf, we are coordinating a
VIM team, consisting of members of our congregation and of our
community, to go to the gulf and help in re-building parts of their
community. We currently have a training scheduled for January and a
will go in June. My hope is that this will pave the way for more
short term ministry trip opportunities in the future.
If you want to be a part of this
ministry, it can be as easy as setting tables for Angel
Tree, reading a map during visitation, or if you have program ideas
you can participate in our planning meetings that occur every third
Sunday. If any of this interests you, please e-mail
.

to hear from you! |
