“Knock, knock.” “Who’s there?” “God.” “God who?” “God who listens to your prayers.” “Can I get a new Nintendo Switch 2?” “...” This might sound familiar. Any good parent of a 5-year-old wouldn’t give them everything they ask for right away. What if I told you that’s also how our relationship with our heavenly Father works? In Luke 11:1–13, Jesus not only shares the famous words “Ask, seek, and knock,” along with the (shorter) version of the Lord’s Prayer, but also tells the Parable of the Friend at Midnight.
